Thank you for your support! The Changing Face of Brain Injury CABIA presents "The Changing Face of Brain Injury featuring Keith Williamson, author of "Speechless...God and a Brain Injury" on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. Join us as Keith shares his inspirational story of recovering from a brain injury. Keith Williamson was the Valedictorian of his high school class looking at a promising future. In 1989, while a student at Georgia State University, he experienced a sudden, life changing event. While fishing from a steep bluff, Keith's footing slipped causing him to fall head first onto a rock and bouncing into a lake. Fortunately, there were some fisherman nearby who rushed over, pulled him out of the water and performed emergency assistance that saved his life. Several weeks later, Keith emerged from a coma having sustained a traumatic brain injury. He was unable to speak being diagnosed with aphasia along with short term memory loss. This was the beginning of a new season of life that would, by far, be the biggest challenge Keith ever faced in his 23 years of life. Keith's story takes you on his personal journey through years of hard work, patience and determination that led to a remarkable recovery. Ultimately, his faith carried him through his grief, hopelessness and despair to a life of acceptance, thankfulness and peace. In 2003, fourteen years after his accident, Keith completed a degree in ministry from Southwest Bible College and Seminary. He currently resides in Turtletown, Tennessee, with his wife, Debra, and daughter Rebecca. He authors a column in the local newspaper and writes inspirational articles for a writers guild. His story is one of courage, endurance and faith when events in life come unexpectedly and in a blink of an eye. Those who hear him will leave refreshed and encouraged in living life to its fullest and persevering even in the most challenging times. Send in your reservation today so you won't miss Keith Williamson's most compelling life story.
